WayForward’s balls-hot contribution to the BloodRayne franchise has been pushed back from August to October 5 on Xbox Live Arcade and September 6 on PSN. That’s incredibly disappointing news, but hopefully WayForward gets to use the time to make it even better. I guess I’ll just donothingat the end of August now.

Brutal Legend trailer is ‘kinda sexy though’

After a long time in limbo,we learned last weekthat Electronic Arts had swept in to rescue Double Fine’sBrutal Legendand will producing the latest twisted action game from Tim Schafer’s pulsating brain. This new trailer is titled “Kinda Sexy Though,” and to be honest, it really is kinda sexy. This is the kind of crazy action game I love, and I really can’t wait to get hold of it. Between this,MadWorldandBayonetta, action fans have a lot of batsh*t insanity to look forward to in 2009....

Carmack interested in doing a Kinect-centric XBLA game

When you’re thinking of potential developers you want tinkering with your latest tech, id’s John Carmack has got to be near the top of that list. Speaking with Joystiq, the famed programmer and technical director said he has “an itch to make a Kinect title for Xbox LIVE.” “I can’t use Kinect for our real games; there just isn’t a place for our current FPSes on there,” he revealed. He’s not alone in that sentiment, and I think that’s why many studios who are known for creating those types of experiences haven’t announced anything for Kinect yet....

Check out these proposed PSPgo colors

Destructoid reader Artimecion recently handed me a collection of hot PSPgo color suggestions put forth by Sony in a customer survey. The survey was created by Hall & Partners Europe, a firm that has some loose connection with Sony, and posted on the Web siteValued Opinions. In amongst all of the questions, most of which were allegedly just fishing for compliments, came this big gallery of potential PSPgo colors, with consumers asked to pick the ones they like....

Chrono Trigger DS countdown reveals new trailer, not much else

I have a confession to make. I told the other editors that I woke up extra early this morning for some unknown reason, but it was really because I had to see what happened when the mysteriousChrono Trigger DSclock finished counting down. Only five seconds to go … 4, 3, 2 … 1 … site crashes AH NOOOOOOOOO! Okay, it’s back up … whew! The newly unveiled, extremely minimalistChrono Trigger DSWeb site offers nothing more than a teaser for the highly anticipated Nintendo DS game....

Comic dude Peter David writing Shadow Complex script

Xbox LIVE Arcade titleShadow Complexis looking quite tasty for a downloadable title. Powered by the Unreal Engine and created by developers with a love for side-scrolling and platforming, it appears as if this is a thing we shouldn’t miss. It seems doubly so if we take a second to consider who penned the script: famous comic book dude (Wolverine,Spider-Man) Peter David. Yesterday, Epic Games and Microsoft revealed Peter David as the guy who wrote the original story for the game and announced that its events run parallel to sci-fi super writer Orsen Scott Card’sEmpire....

Crouching Tiger, Indie Brawler: HurricaneX2 impressions

When it comes to videogames and China, most people think of free-to-play MMOs, shady gold farming, anda definite lack ofWorld of Warcraft. YouYun Technologyis an indie game studio based in Nanjing and the creators ofHurricaneX2Evolutionand fourth place winners in Microsoft’s recentDream.Build.Playcompetition.HurricaneX2is, on a very basic level, a 3D beat-’em-up, but here’s the trick: “A Chinese Kung Fu practitioner has developed his own fighting game!...

Indie iPhone/iPad hitCut The Ropehas received a new update, which adds the ‘Magic Box’ with a batch of new levels that use a newPortal-like magic hat mechanic. Dead Block downloadable content now available

When we reviewedDead Blockfor XBox Live Arcade, we weren’t particularly friendly. Let’s just say that it has its issues. But if you decided to go forward and buy it anyhow, great news — there’s downloadable content now! The content adds four new maps to the zombie defense game, including a motel, a Turkish bath, an office, and a slaughterhouse. Perfect places to hole up during a zombie apocalypse, apparently. The content (called the “More Dead to Block Map Pack”) is going to cost 240 MS Points, and will be available… oh, right now....

Dead Space Downfall trailer

Here’s a brand new trailer for Dead Space Downfall, the animated prequel for EA’s upcoming third-person action horror gameDead Space. The movie focuses on the colonists that uncover a mysterious alien relic and their subsequently violent deaths once it starts mutating them all into bloodthirsty Xenomorphs — providing yet another example of curiosity killing the cat. When I was watching the trailer I couldn’t help but think that the visuals closely resembled that of the recent Hellboy animated films (Sword of Storms, Blood and Iron) and, sure enough, both were drawn by same folks over atFilm Roman....
