Split/Second developer working on unannounced racer

Black Rock Studio, the Brighton, England-based developer ofSplit/Second, is currently working on an unannounced racer. Shocking news, I know, coming out of a studio who has (since its inception in the late-90s) has worked on nothing but racing titles. I mean, that’s kind of its thing — it pumped out a few ATV titles and twoMotoGPtitles for THQ before developing the excellentPureand (more recently)Split/Second. A job listingshows the studio is looking for a Technical Art Director to work on “an unannounced dame on Xbox 360 & PS3....

STFUAJPG contest

You might have seen “STFUAJPG” before, but what does it mean? It’s a secret. Drama is an inevitable part of life, especially in gaming. In an industry that revolves around setting goals and boasting about accomplishments, it’s not rare for debates and opinions to get out of hand and ruin the simplest of calm conversations. Long ago, before Destructoid had assembled its robot army of gamers to take over the world, I wrote down ten Dtoid commandments....

Street artists invade New York City with tile-mosaic Mario art

I miss living in or near New York City. The culture, the people, the cheap hot dogs, and the night life are unmatched almost anywhere in the world. And nowthere’s this. Looks like some clever street artists are at it in the City that Never Sleeps, using tile-mosaics to put tiny little Marios under street-level water hookups. Now that I’m living in Baltimore, the closest thing I get to this is finding dead rats in the street and pretending its RPG-dungeon street art....
