A few months ago, I went on an all-out Game Boy binge, playing and replaying essentially everything worth touching. Those old games hold up shockingly well, and for all the 8- and 16-bit love shown in the independent scene, not enough current games attempt to recapture the essence of the Game Boy.
This game,1-bit Ninjabykode80, though — hot damn. He (Ben Hopkins) knows what I’m talking about. The intent was to create a platformer “specifically for touch screen, with controls that didn’t suck.” As such, there are only two “buttons” for controlling your character, with a third used to give you a 3D perspective.

1-bit Ninjahits iPhone and iPod touch later this month. Can’t wait.
