This is a gameplay video for99Bullets, coming soon toDSiWarefrom EnjoyUp Games. As you may see, it’s a shoot-em-up where you control a little green robot flying through space and destroying all enemies in your path with your advanced, 4-directional shooting. What distinguishes it from most other games is that it adds a combo system for greater scoring, making the game as much about not being in the path of things as being in their path at the right time to destroy enemies and maximize points.

This is one of the major reasons I like arcade-style games. They have fundamental, core gameplay concepts that are so simple, any change to them can dramatically change the nature of the game itself. One little tweak or addition creates an entirely new game with new strategies that have to be adopted to accommodate them. I can’t say how much fun99Bulletsis going to be, but I appreciate that it exists.
