Atari might not be the most critically or financially successful company in the industry (to put it politely) but the publisher still has a few tricks in its magic bag. With franchises likeBaldur’s Gate,Dungeons & Dragons,Test Drive UnlimitedandNeverwinter Nights, there is some considerable intellectual property under the belt.
In fact, Atari islooking at revisitingall of these franchises in the future, which is bound to be great news for some. Unfortunately, none of these revivals seem likely within the next twelve months.

“You will hear more from these but not today, because we’re focused on 2009,” claims Infogrames president Phil Harrison.
A newBaldur’s Gatewould probably be pretty decent. I’m not a fan of many Western hack n’ slash RPGs, but the PS2 iteration of the series caught my eye, if only for the barmaid’s big tits. Just a shame that it’ll be a year before there’s any word on the thing, especially since Atari needs to wash the taste ofAlone in the Darkout of its mouth.
