Sony Computer Entertainment Europe man David Reeveshas suggestedthat being the forgotten market of the gaming industry is actually a good thing somehow, because Europe getting its games last means that “everything’s ironed out.” Oh, I see … that makes waiting for myFinal Fantasy IVmuch easier. Here’s what Reeves had to say in an interview withVG247:

People say, ‘Well, why do we always get things last? Why can’t we say things?’ Well, I’ve said this many times before: sometimes it’s an advantage to be last in Europe, you know, when everything’s ironed out.

…This time [at the 2008 Games Convention], we do have things to say in the European [market]. We have the music service, and we’re doing great things onSingStarand there’s more to come. These are global announcements.

I’m not sure what he means by “everything’s ironed out,” unless he’s just admitted that videogames are rushed out of the door and only fixed up later on. It’s something we all blatantly know, but it’s nice to have that confirmed. I guess having an actualfinishedproduct is a nice advantage, unless it’s from Nintendo, who heldSuper Paper Marioback for six months and thenshipped it with a brand new glitch.
