Activision has been quite busy recentlyregistering domain names, and all for one brand. I’ll give you one guess what it is, and the hint that it doesn’t have to do with plastic instruments. Yup, theCall of Dutyseries has recently had multiple domain names registered for it and they could hint at where the series is going.

Activision registeredcallofdutyfuturewarfare.com,callofdutyfuturewarfare2.comandcallofdutyfuturewarfare3.comon Tuesday showing that they are not only looking into the future of the franchise, but looking into the future for the franchise as well. On top of those three domains they also registeredspacewarfare2.com,spacewarfare3.com,secretwarfare2.comandsecretwarfare3.com. Finally,Advancedwarfare2.com, andadvancedwarfare3.comwere registered as well.

Of course domain registration doesn’t mean these games will ever get made, but it does appear that Activision is at least thinking of taking the franchise into the future with one of the fourCall of Dutygames currently in development (most likely eitherSledgehammer’s action/adventure gameor Raven’s rumored one). Hopefully those space warfare domains are just generic terms because, as horror movies have shown, things that start on earth should never go into space.
