As a result of a videogame retail job I once had, I somehow ended up with four or five N-Gage units, in addition to a number of memorable titles, likeAshenandThe Sims: Bustin’ Out. And it wasn’t too long ago that had a conversation with theWeekly Geek’sChris Furniss, where I lamented the fact that I couldn’t even buy a cheap lunch if I sold the units.

But the N-Gage platform is far from dead: Nokia and Capcom have revealed today that Capcom plans on publishing titles for the N-Gage platform in 2008. The new N-Gage platform is currently slated for a Fall 2007 release, and will be supported across a number of Nokia phones.

“Capcom is dedicated to creating great mobile games,” said Capcom’s Yosuke Yoneda, “and believes that N-Gage will allow us to bring some of our most famous franchises to the platform.”

This is great news for Capcom fans and future owners of Nokia phones that support the N-Gage platform. Me, on the other hand, I’m screwed — I won’t be able to play these new games on any of my five taco shaped cellular devices.
