This is my third attempt at writing this story. I hope it works out this time. You see my first two tries went unfinished, as the sheer level of apathy incited by this news caused my fingers to slow to the typing speed of a ninety year-old arthritic, and eventually brought about a deep unconciousness from which I have only just recovered.
With talent-free zone Paul W.S. Anderson having removed himself from the director’s chair in order to completely mess up aDeath Race 2000remake, a replacement has been found in the form of Silvain White. I realize that many may not recognize the name, so I’ll clarify. He’s the guy who directedStomp The Yard. But fear not, as he also has some solid horror experience behind him in the form ofI’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer. You know, the third one. Which went straight to DVD. White had this to say toVariety:

“Most of the vampire films have been present or set in the future, from ‘Blade’ to ‘Underworld,’ and I was attracted by the chance to make a dark, epic period movie that almost has an anime feel to it,”
Right. He is aware that there’s already a probably infinitely betteranimated trilogyof Castlevania films on the way from the mighty pen of Warren Ellis isn’t he? This is going to turn intoStreet Fighter 2all over again, mark my words.
