Catherine‘s still new but the action title has already become Atlus’ biggest launch title ever. There’s no solid sales numbers yet, but it’s still safe to say that  in Atlus’ 20 year history, no game has moved more copies at launch. Go, Cathy!

“Catherinehas exceeded our highest expectations,” Tim Pivnicny, VP of Sales and Marketing at Atlus, toldIGN. “It released last week to tremendous critical acclaim and fan response, bolstered by the release of a demo a couple weeks prior, and continues to generate discussion among fans for its mature themes, engrossing subject matter, and frantic, challenging gameplay.”

“It is fitting, then, thatCatherinecan boast the largest launch in the 20-year history of Atlus, and continues to see strong sales at retail.”

It hasn’t been that long since the July 26th launch. I hope this sends a message back to Atlus Japan and Team Persona that we like these kinds of games. More, please!
