Cryptic Studios, the developer responsible forCity of Heroes, is taking beta applications forChampions Online. The beta is closed and will begin mid-November. People who want to take advantage of the opportunity can find the applicationhere, but only PC gamers are invited.
We’ve seenChampionsOnlinein a few differentcontexts.Back in July, our very own Qais Fulton said thatChampionswas “shaping up to be one fantastic game, not just a good MMO.” I was able to get my grubby hands on it during Gen Con this year, and I was quite impressed. Even though the beta is PC-only, players will find that using an Xbox 360 controller is perfect for the game’s stylish, action-oriented combat.
No word on when Cryptic will quit taking applications, but it might be best to get into the pool early. How many of you are interested inChampions? Does it look like it will have enough flair to keep you hooked?
