So the good Rey Gutierrez (whose last name I will forever pronounce Guitar-Rez while wailing on an air guitar no matter if I find out that is wrong or not) sent over a link toDaft Punk: The Gameyesterday and exclaimed it was like a platforming version ofRez. Being a fan of both the awesomely awesome Daft Punk and the incredibly incredibleRezI have to admit I got a bit excited, and since I had just gotten done playing one of themost ridiculously awesome flash games everI had some high hopes for this sucker.

Two extremely short levels later the game was over and all I had was an annoying version ofOne More Timestuck in my head. This is notRezmeets Daft Punk, its Daft Punk meets a guy trying to get a job so he makes a crappy flash game. You lied to me Mr. Gutierrez.

So why post about it? Because the basic concept behind the game is amazing. The player is collecting song samples while jumping on enemies. Stringing together enemy kills not only creates a higher score, but also makes music. With better controls and level design it could be a ridiculously cool game to play, with every enemy killed in a combo helping you orchestrate a song. Plus, picking up new samples should really add to the soundtrack itself. A+ for the idea, F for effort.
