Not too long agowe told you aboutDavid Perry’s upcoming cloud-based on-demand gaming service Gaikai, which would allow gamers to play just about anything almost instantly on even the weakest PC through the power of internet streaming. Now Perry is at work trying to promote the service, calling it a “wet dream” for investors.
“Put it this way – it’s like a wet dream for investors,” Perry said in an interview. “To come to them with a problem like that – we can’t scale fast enough – trust me, I can line them up. If I go to an investor with that problem, they’ll help me solve it.”
Perry also says in thisinterviewthat he is working with companies that can build and scale hardware for Gaikai almost immediately.
“We’re just trying to work out what that cost will be, but because it’s a service to me I can then say I need another thousand servers and they can take care of that problem.”
He’s working to hard to make it sound like the scaling and technology is in place for this. Of course, the investors will need proof, as will we, the gamers.
