We already know that Terminal Reality’sGhostbustershas beenpushed back to a June 2009 release, but originally the game was supposed to come out this Christmas. Why the delay? According to Terminal Reality’s Drew Haworth, the wait was all about maxing out the creep factor. He commented toCVGthat the move to Atari allowed them to work on the cutscenes and pacing, resulting in a focus on the “player experience”.

This is cool to hear, don’t get me wrong — I’m always happy to hear that a company is pouring effort into a title —  but the Ghostbusters films seem to be more successful because of their comedy elements. Even as a kid, I don’t remember being scared by any of it. Here’s to hoping that element doesn’t get lost in the focus to make the game scary, because a good balance of both seems like it would be best.
