Dynasty Warriors 7released in Japan today and Koei Tecmo has wastedzerotime in throwing up the downloadable content. Most of it is free, but there is one paid set that pisses me off.
The free stuff is a range of costumes from previousDynasty Warriorsgames, so if you don’t like the new designs, you can swap them out. Today, players can grab outfits fromDynasty Warriors 6, with costumes fromDynasty Warriors 5expected next. On March 17, you can also download new background music from past games, starting again withDW6.

The paid DLC, costing ¥100, is a new set of “Senka” weaponry, known to fans as Yue Ying’s original Scythe. Basically, this confirms my belief that weapon and movesets have been limited in the main game so that Koei can sell you more diversity later. I amnotvery impressed by this development.
I mean, giving us Sima Yi’s finger-whips would be stupendously badass, but there’s no reason why they couldn’t have been included in the first place. I am now going to shake my fist to the clouds and shout, “KOEIIIIIIIIIII” in a fit of nerd rage.
