During Activision’snot-E3 press conferenceyesterday, a developer forGuitar Hero: World Tourstated that non-Guitar Heroinstruments will work with the nextGuitar Herogame.MTV Multiplayerthen confirmed with Activision that the Xbox 360 version ofGuitar Hero: World Tourwill indeed work with the firstRock Bandinstruments. No word on whether or notRock RevolutionorRock Band 2instruments will work since they’re not out yet.
So far, only the Xbox 360 version compatibility is being talked about as Activision won’t say if the other platforms will get the same treatment. The cross compatibility has actually already started withGuitar Hero: Aerosmithas there was an auto-download for the Xbox 360 version at some point that should makeRock Bandguitars work with the game right now.
So this pretty much leveled theRock Band 2vsGuitar Hero: World Tourplaying field. Will you be gettingGuitar Hero: World Tournow that the instruments are cross compatible (for the Xbox 360 at least)?
