I have seen the nextLegend of Zeldagame. Well, actually, I’ve seenartfrom a newLegend of Zeldagame… and I’m not talking aboutLegend of Zelda: Spirit Tracksfor the Nintendo DS. I’m talking about the nextLegend of Zeldacurrently in development for the Wii.

“To be honest with you,” Miyamoto told a small theater full of media during a Q&A today, “I really wanted to announce a Zelda game for the Wii [this E3].”

Obviously, they didn’t. But he did share some of the first details on the game with us. Hit the jump for more.

But he did bring a single piece of concept art for the game, and no… they won’t let us show it to you. The single image showed an adult-looking Link, his back turned, looking over his shoulder. In front of him was an unfamiliar sad-looking female wearing a robe. According to Miyamoto, what we saw directly tied into the game’s story and gameplay… but the tease would say no more.

He did mention that Wii Motion Plus would indeedbe compatible with the nextLegend of Zeldaon the Wii; it may even beonlyplayable with the Wii Motion Plus. This depends, he said half-jokingly, on the strength of Wii Motion Plus sales.

Nintendo will have a while to push some babies off the shelf. We’re not going to be seeing the newZeldaWii title for quite some time; Miyamoto says they’ll probably be bringing it to the next E3.
