E3 is just a few days away, and what better place than “the Superbowl of videogame news” for Namco-Bandai to announce the latest game(s) in their longest running franchise? Nick told us a little ways back about a listing for a new game calledPac Chain, but this is something different. The game here, listed on both Newegg and Gamestop, is calledPac-Man 30th Anniversary Party(orPac-Man 30th Party, depending on who you ask). It’s priced between $30-$37 dollars (again, depending on who you ask) and is set for release on the Wii, which is weird givenNamco-Bandai’s recent comments about the console.

My fear is that this will be another party game, something in lines with the PS2/Gamecube gamePac-Man Fever. That would be bad. I like party games just fine, but more than one a year is really unnecessary, and interested Wii owners already haveWii Partyto look forward to right now.

Ideally, this new game would be a compilation of everyPac-Mangame ever made (including the weird oneslike Pac-Man Vs.and that point-and-click adventure game on the SNES) plus a couple of new games thrown in for good measure. That may be asking a lot, but the least Namco-Bandai could do is make this a “real”Pac-Mangame, and not crap.

Poor Pac-Man has been in some real sh*t games in the past. Namco ought to treat the old guy with more respect, for their own sake. I don’t think they want Pacman Jones on their bad side.
