When it comes to arcade combat flight sim console action with an over-the-top dramatic story, it doesn’t get much better than theAce Combatseries. Sure, it’s noIL-2 Sturmovikbut it’s not supposed to be.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizonwill come with a couple of new online modes including Capital Conquest, which lets you challenge opposing teams to fight for control of famous capitals around the world. Also, Apaches!
I do hope that the close combat zoomed-in action mechanic won’t drown out the regular combat from the past games. Contrary to Hamza,who loved the new mechanic, I’m perfectly fine with shooting some AIM-120s from a couple of miles away.
If the new “Close Range Assault” feature won’t be overused in the actual game, but instead adds arcade action to replace the usual close combat chaos that ensues when you run out of Sidewinders, I’m going to be all over this game. Hell, at least it will drown out memories ofH.A.W.X. 2.
