Electronic Arts has announced today that they’ll be bringing the classicMonopolyboard games to consoles in a whole new way. To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Parker Brothers publishing the firstMonopoly, EA is going to release a version of the game where players can go street level and see the development of the city around them. Xbox 360 and Wii users can have their Avatars/Miis running around in said 3D city too! Neat!

Hopefully obvious sarcasm aside, there is good news forMonopolyfans here. Online multiplayer will be included and you’ll even be able to create sets of house rules for use with certain groups of friends. That’s a great thing to hear, as I don’t think I’ve played Monopoly in two homes the exact same way and the freedom of house rules is one of the best parts of the game.

So, if you’re intoMonopoly, this could be pretty neat. What house rules do you like to use when you play?
