Activision has finally decided to spill the entire track listing for its upcomingGuitar Hero Smash Hits, one of the five “Hero”games scheduled for the remainder of 2009.
Taking the “best” songs from the previous versions of theGuitar Heroseries,Smash Hitshas an amazing soundtrack. As the name implies, they’re almost entirely “smash hits,” with few exceptions. It’s also important to note that all of the tracks are masters, and in some cases live tracks. As far as the game is concerned, it brings some of the songs to the full band experience for the first time. It’s what Activision is calling “innovation,” which is questionable.

I had a chance to try out a demo of the game a few days ago, and despite the limited selection of songs (the full track list wasn’t playable), was impressed by what I heard. Gameplay wise, you can expect the same look, feel, and features ofGuitar Hero World Tour, along with the little tweaks found inGuitar Hero Metallica.
Guitar Hero Smash Hitsis scheduled to his PlayStation 3, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii on June 16.
