Dr. Michael Capps will give a keynote at GDC Europe next month (August 15-17), titled “Size Doesn’t Matter: How Epic Brings AAA Attitude to Every Game, from Gears of War 3 to Infinity Blade.”

The talk will cover some things like the similarities in Epic Games’ production methodology and pipelines from shared staff and infrastructure — People Can Fly doesn’t reside in North Carolina after all — and more importantly how the drive for AAA quality games comes from the individuals that share a desire to make them, and how company culture can support and reinforce that.

It sounds like it could be interesting enough for those that are traveling to Cologne (early registration ends today by the way). Other keynote speakers include thatgamecompany’s Kellee Santiago, Playdom’s Gordon Walton, wooga’s Jens Begemann, and none other than Richard Garriott himself.

I’ll be on-site to cover some of the more interesting GDC Europe sessions in the run-up to gamescom that same week. If you want to check out for yourself what sessions there will be at GDC Europe, you can see most of them listedover here.
