There’s something magical about Valve. I’m convinced that they have little demons that run around and whisper in people’s ears, inspiring them to commit dark acts of supplication towards the mythology ofHalf-Life. Just as well, seeing how the developer seems to be taking their sweet time expanding it themselves.

Here is one such effort from fans of the game in Birmingham.Beyond Black Mesais a short film set in the years following the resonance cascade. It’s centered around Adrian Shephard, hero of theHalf-LifeexpansionOpposing Force, as he tries to warn humanity of the impending Combine invasion.

The short film will be shown in its entirety at the Action on Film festival in Pasedena, California on July 26th. If this trailer is any indication, it will be very sexy. Take a couple of minutes and enjoy this one, guys.
