Chad:I played nothing butFallout 3this week, which I am loving more and more the longer I play it. Like I did inGrand Theft Auto IV, I have decided to be one of those obnoxiously good characters that is nice to everyone he meets. You want me to retrieve the ink on a gigantic, challenging sidequest to make a fake Declaration of Independence so I don’t have to bother attacking you, stealing the original document, and therefore becoming a bad person? No problem! You want to compromise and become friendly, helpful vampires since I am not the confrontational, cannibalistic type? Sounds good! Seriously, my karma is so high I think even thegameis annoyed with me.

Jim:I’ve mostly been playing a game that involves my immune system, unfamilar American germs, and jetlag. It’s a lethal combination but these pills really are the dog’s bollocks.

Destiny 2 Solstice 2025 armor

In terms of videogames, I’ve been persevering withSonic Unleashed, just because the fun stuff really is worth wading through the shit for. I also gave up onHomecomingbecause it was balls. To try and remind myself of what thoroughly enjoyable games are, I also started playingHalf-Life 2again. It’s like a good adventure movie, just something you need to keep coming back to now and then. Outside of that, plenty ofLeft 4 Dead, mostly playing the campaign with my other half, but rocking the Dtoid crew whenever there are enough about.

Oh, and “make people without avatars flip out and post silly things” is another classic game I’ve been picking up lately.

Hell is Us gameplay reveal

Topher:I finally closed the book onPersona 3after 86 hours. Finishing a huge RPG like that is both sad and liberating, and as much as I loved and enjoyed the game, I’m kinda happy to be free from its clutches. Once it was over I realized I had nothing new to get into, so I replayedSpyro the Dragonfor PSX. I’m still not sure how that happened. Oh, and I beat my oldSuper Stardust HDscore. That was fun, too.

Conrad:Prince of Persia, mostly, which is short on challenge but big on charm. And, for some reason, I felt compelled to fire upSuper Mario Bros. yesterday. It’s really amazing how well that game endures.

Black Ops 6 Season 5 Multiplayer Ransack Mode

Samit:Woo,Spyro! Man, I loved those first three games on the PS1.

InNHL 09, I finally took the league points lead from Marian Gaborik of the Minnesota Wild…and I also scored my 100th career goal! I did it in 76 games, which I think is pretty awesome. Otherwise, I just got a little further in myRock Band 2career — I now have Chicago and Montreal available to me. Also, after reading Nick’ssparkling review ofPrince of Persia, I’ve officially chosen it overResistance 2andLittleBigPlanet(though again, I fully intend to pick up those two games eventually).

Tekken Tag Tournament 2: a black and white Jin and Heihachi stand back-to-back.

And in other amazing news, the copy ofKatamari Damacythat I ordered on Black Friday from Amazon for $4.95 finally arrived! I haven’t played it yet, but my excitement is slightly tempered by the fact that, since the game came out in 2003, it doesn’t appear to support widescreen or progressive scan (in other words, it’s probably going to look shitty in 480i on my HDTV). Hopefully, the PS3’s upscaler can make it look serviceable.

Topher:I’ve playedKatamarion my PS3, it doesn’t look bad. Er, well, it looks as good as it’s going to get, anyway. Blocky Saturn graphics, etc. But who gives a shit what it looks like when you’re having that much FUN.

PEAK Bing Bong plushie

Colette:Prince of Persiahas taken up most of my time this week, although last night I did play someRock Band 2andGitaroo Man. I’m frothing at the mouth forPersona 4, so expect to see that as my game of the week for the next two months. Boring for you, I know, but I expect it’ll be pretty enthralling to me. 🙂

Jonathan:GotSPRayin the mail yesterday, tried playing it for about an hour, and it was the least fun I’ve had playing a videogame…ever? God, getting through this sucker for review is going to hurt. I just have to hope it gets less terrible as you collect more bodily juices or something.

Silent Hill f: a woman’s face covered in blossoming but deadly looking flowers.

Also picked upCommando: Steel Disasterfor $15. I like it more thanMetal Slug 7, which is saying a lot. Finally, spent more than a few hours withAnimal Crossing City Folk. It’s still the most relaxing videogame ever (except for when you’re trying to catch a Coleocanth. That’s a fisherman’s hell.)
