According to a tweet byFret Nicedeveloper Pieces Interactive, the guitar-controlled platformer Fret Nice hits PlayStation Network in North America this week. Europe has received a vague “coming soon,” so hold tight.
Fret Niceuses guitar controllers to control an on-screen characters, taking control over something called a “Vibrant Chordblaster.” I’ve spent a bit of time with the game and found the use of the controller unique, but issues with hardware (i.e. aGuitar Hero‘s “star power” tilt — which makes your player jump — not working) made some of the experience frustrating. But when it worked, it was neat enough that I’m definitely interested in spending some more time with the game. (Note: The game can also be played with a standard controller… but why?)
