Harmonix employee Steven Bailey, Quality Assurance Lead, kicked off a little project called Healing Pack as a way for employees of Harmonix and other video game developers to help Japan out of their terrible situation. What started as an individual effort has blossomed beautifully.
“When I saw the tragic disaster that hit Japan recently, I wanted to do something,” Steven said. “I knew however that I didn’t have enough money alone to make the impact I wanted. I decided to gather up all of my Harmonix swag that I had collected over my five years working there and sell it for charity. Then, I thought that maybe other game companies might also want to help, so I started sending emails and contacting other developers.”

“I have to say that the response I got was far more supportive than I ever expected.”
Awesome. In two weeks Stephen was able to gather 80 auctions of swag. What’s great is that some of this stuff was only made available to developers. Rare stuff. Stuff you know you want.

All of the Healing Pack items will be put on eBay, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund – a GlobalGiving Project. Head towww.healingpack.orgto see a complete list of auction items.
