indiePub and Strange Loop Games have announcedVessel, a puzzle platformer revolving around liquid physics, for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC.

It’ll be releasing this holiday season, but our first hands-on will be fairly soon: a playable demo is being brought to PAX Prime 2011 later this month. InVessel, you tackle puzzles by animating liquid (water, lava, chemicals, etc.) “into living machines called Fluros that retain all the properties of the liquid they contain.”

Naturally, the fluids can melt, reform, and do other things that fluids do to get around obstacles. This is one of those games that will likely make more sense when we have a video in front of us.
