During the Christmas period, we ran a story fromThe Tehran Timeswhich states that Iran was joining America’s ESRB. It seemed weird at the time, and now we know why — it’s not really true.

GamePoliticsgot a statement from the ESRB which basically said that nobody ever “joins” the ESRB and that its ratings only apply to the US and Canada. The rating board confirmed that “Companies from other countries may submit for rating if the game is to be sold in the U.S. and/or Canadian market… Our ratings apply to games sold in the U.S. and Canada only.”
