The wonderfulBack to the Futureseries has been receiving a welcome renaissance over the last few years. With its 25th Anniversary passing by — commemorated with aBlu-ray collection— and the welcome addition to the story throughTelltale’s episodic puzzle adventure, now Nike is releasing a replica of the infamous shoes from the second movie.

They’re called the 2011 Nike MAG, and are now available as a limited-edition item oneBayas part of a special auction for the Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson’s Research. The ten-day auction started on September 8th. However, being a limited-edition shoe of such an iconic film prop, the auctions so far have amassed on average a crazy $5,000 per pair.

Though many of us won’t be able to afford that, Nike confirmed that another version, complete with the trademark “power laces,” will be coming in 2015. Whether or not they’ll be as spectacular remains to be seen.
