It seems that his email address was being used by item dealers to create PlayOnline accounts forFinal Fantasy XI. His address was attached to money making accounts that were expected to be banned instantly, and his inbox was seeing the aftermath.

Tired of the mail, this guy, who has never playedFinal Fantasy XI, contacted Square Enix to put a stop to it all. Someone at Square Enix told him that this was impossible. Not satisfied, he took Square Enix to court and won.

For his efforts, which he undertook without legal cousul, he will be rewarded with 50,000 yen (about $560). Sure, $560 isn’t a lot of money, but it beats the hell out of an inbox full of spam.
