In the future, hype’s Dictionary definition could be replaced with a box shot ofKillzone 2, and I’m pretty sure we’d all get the idea. There is no denying that thepressureis on for Guerrilla and its big PS3 exclusive, which launches at the end of the week. PS3 fans are expecting it to cure the sick, raise the dead and lead them to the promised land. They also expect reviewers to give it a 9/10 or lose their jobs.

“It’s a bit of a blessing and a curse at the same time,”saysGuerrilla’s Steven Ter Heide on the game’s hype. “What can I say about it? It’s good to be such an anticipated title. Certainly there’s a lot of enthusiasm out there. But it can be difficult at the same time, because you have to ignore it at times and not get too involved, and just get on with making the game we want to make and that hopefully will live up to everybody’s expectations — no matter how unrealistic those expectations are.”

Killzone 2goes on sale this Friday, and we’ll have our review up on or around that day. Whether this game is the savior of men or not remains to be seen, but there seems to be no question that this will be the PS3’s biggest title yet.
