Before the Nintendo Wii launched, Koei announced an exclusive title for the system calledSamurai Warriors Wave. An announcement was almost all that was made before the game seemingly disappeared off the face of our world with nary a further mention. However, when I spoke to Koei a short while ago, I’d heard thatSamurai Warriorsfor the Wii was far from dead. Rebranded asSamurai Warriors Katana, this first person sword slasher has thrown out a brand new trailer showing off its waggle-based gameplay.I was very excited once I knew news of this was coming and awaited the trailer eagerly. That said, looking at it now is … not impressive. Perhaps this is an early build, but the shocking PS2 visuals and the “House of the Deadwith a sword” style gameplay isn’t quite what I was hoping for. It pains me to say it, butSamurai Warriors Katanadoesn’t look like something I want, if this one trailer is any indication.
