It must be really boring to live in Duluth, Minnesota. For whatever reason the denizens of Duluth bide their time by counting birds. Among the indigenous birds like the Turkey Vulture, Bald Eagle, and the great Rough-legged Hawk stalks mankind’s and Mario’s greatest enemy – the Koopa Troopa (orKoopius Troopio).

According tothis chart, over 90 of these dangerous turtle-birds were spotted last week in Duluth. If these two numbers are any indication, it appears as though the great Koopa plague of Duluth, Minnesota is nearing an end. Finally, the people of this town will be able to do other things outside than counting birds and kicking around shells to get extra lives.

I haven’t the slightest idea if the chart is a clever Photoshop, but the picture above is fairly convincing. I contacted the King of Duluth for response to the numbers but he did not get back to us before press time. Are the Koopas really receding in the region? Has Bowser gained a foothold? Unfortunately, only time will tell.
