It’s over the caterwauling of Nick Chester that I write this, the man’s heart has been broken, and as you might suspect,it’s all the fault of a few zombies. You see, in spite of rumors thatLeft 4 Deadwould be ported to the PS3 being denied by Valve themselves (which in the grand scheme of things is like confirmation from On High) Nick, in his childlike optimism, held out hope.  Now I, in league with Valve, am here to crush those hopes.

In a recent trip to Valve Studios, the fine folks at OXM were informed in no uncertain terms that as far as consoles are concerned, the Xbox 360 will be the only one to get a port. Heading up development for the 360 version ofLeft 4 Deadis Certain Affinity, a small developer responsible for much of theHalo 2 and 3DLC. Considering their demonstrably excellent work, I couldn’t be more pleased.

According to Valve the 360 version still has a bit of work left to be done before they can put the proverbial baby to bed, however they did reveal some information regardingLeft 4 Dead’smultiplayer features on the 360.  While four player coop and eight player four-on-four versus matches will be supported via Live or system link (does anyone actually do that?) Valve has neglected to comment on whether split-screen multiplayer, something seriously lacking in games today, will be available.
