The other day I went in to GameStop to pick up one of those fancy MS Points cards that contain the imaginary Microsoft monies. Not unexpectedly, the gentleman behind the counter was putting on the “what would you like to reserve?” press on pretty hard. I don’t begrudge him for it, it’s his job — I did this at one time as well — and I politely declined.

Eager to grab my attention (and my reserve dollars), he struggled to pull the name of some game — any game — out of his ass.

“You should reserveMini Ninjas,” he said.

Now, he almost got me on that one, mostly because I don’t think I could have come up with a more random title to pitch to a customer.Madden NFL 10,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,Guitar Hero 5… sure, why not? ButMini Ninjas? A curious choice.

But it got me thinking — maybe Ididwant to reserveMini Ninjas. It’s acute looking title, being developed by the same folks (Io Interactive) famous for theHitmanseries of games. It features ninjas, ones that smaller than usual. And a fox, apparently. So maybe I’ll go back and reserve it, but I’ve got a choice on my hands — for what platform? Mini Ninjas is headed to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC and Nintendo DS.
