With a plethora ofStar Warsgames out there dealing with the rebuilding of the Jedi after the events of episodes IV, V and VI old Luke Skywalker has been showing up every once in a while. One would assume that since Mark Hamill played young Luke Skywalker and he is now older that he would be a perfect fit to voice old Luke Skywalker. The actor is alreadya veteran of voicing videogame characters, so logic would lead one to believe he’d be a perfect fit.

Yet he has never been asked to voice Luke Skywalker in a game… ever. Speaking with gaming magPC Zone, Hamill was discussing his game voicing career when they asked him about voicing Skywalker.“When I played Luke from 1977 to 1983, games were in their infancy. I talked about turning a page and starting a new chapter. Those movies had a beginning, middle and end, and everyone sort of moved on,” he said.

“I don’t really know how to answer that, because I’ve never been asked to do it. That’s fine, though.”

“If you’re playing Luke the way he was in the films – from his late teens to mid-’20s – I’ve outgrown the role. In the story, Luke is so boy-next-door farm boy, it’s like Dorothy in Oz. All the other characters that surround him are fantastic.”

I’d like to say I’m terribly upset by this radical injustice, but it’s hard to care when the man himself doesn’t care. He’s way betteras the Jokeranyway.
