Midway has announced that it has “kwietly” slipped theMortal Kombat: Kollectionfor the PlayStation 2 to retail stores today.
The three game pack includesMortal Kombat: Deception,Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, andMortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, all for $29.99. I won’t try to defend the quality ofArmageddonandDeception— either you like ’em or you don’t — butShaolin Monksis definitely worth a look. Particularly if you have a friend (you do have a friend, right?), the cooperative fighter/beat-em-up isn’t perfect, but it’s some bloody, sloppy fun.
The timing of this release is likely to get people hyped for the upcomingMortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, which in November. This also isn’t the firstMortal Kombatpackage Midway has released for the PS2, although I can’t remember what was in the other one; hell, it might have been the same package for all I know.
