The original plan was to group a quick look ofMySims SkyHeroesalong with the rest of theSimspreviews. After playing it though, I feel like this game deserves some proper attention, especially with the hardcore audience we attract at Destructoid.
SkyHeroesis targeted mainly at the kids who are just leaving the kiddy stuff behind but are still too young for the marine shooters. It’s a good demographic to hit, especially with how there seems to be a lack of games targeted for the 10 and up on the PS3 and 360.

Don’t let the kid-like appeal turn you off though. This is actually fun for all ages. See whatMySims SkyHeroesis all about after the break.
MySims SkyHeroes(Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS)To be released: September 2010Developer: The Sims StudioPublisher: Electronic Arts

While there is a story and racing mode to SkyHeroes, the real appeal is the dog fights. Think the battle mode fromMario Kartbut with airplanes. Up to ten-players (six on the Wii, four on the DS) will battle it out to be the top player of the match. Weapon pickups are all over the map which include missiles, laser beams and — I kid you not — an orbital strike laser. Giant beams of lasers will literally freaking rain down from the sky!
As this is aSimstitle, you can definitely expect customization features for your character and your airplane. On top of that, there will be special characters included from other EA games. Isaac Clarke fromDead Space, Morrigan fromDragon Age, Shepard fromMass Effect, Dusty fromMedal of Honorand Salem and Rios fromArmy of Twowill all be unlockable as playable characters. And in a way, this will be the first time any of these games will be represented on the Wii!

Speaking of which, the Wii will have minimal motion controls. The developers onSkyHeroesreally want players to focus on the actual combat. So you won’t have to worry about too much motion control. Plus, you’ll immediately respawn when your plane is destroyed and you won’t take damage from running into a wall.
MySims SkyHeroesis a real blast. It may not appeal to everyone, but I had a really enjoyable time with the game. Look for this late September.
