GoNintendo somehow managed to stay awake through Satoru Iwata’s quarterly financial reports briefing, a feat I would probably not have been able to accomplish. Good thing, too, as the President of Nintendo confirmed that the next iteration ofZeldaon Wii would be shown at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.

It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of the series when it goes 3D, but I at least managed to finishTwilight Princess. Whether that’s down to the shiny newness of the Wii or an actual statement on the quality of the game isn’t something I’ve given a whole lot of thought to, but I know that I’ll at least wind up playing another game.

Hopefully, I’ll be playing it at E3. We don’t know whether the game will be playable on the show floor or if there will be hands-off demos of it yet, but I’m hoping for the latter — if for no other reason than being able to play it just long enough to hate 3DZeldaagain and move on with my life.
