We don’t have exact sales numbers yet, but Nintendo has said that the first-day sales for their glasses-free portable, the 3DS, has beat that of any other portable in their history. Some questioned the success of the 3DS launch as some systems remained on shelves. Maybe Nintendo has finally figured out how to supply plenty of systems at launch.
“Nintendo worked hard to get as much product as possible to retailers on day one to meet demand, and we will continue with these efforts moving forward,” a Nintendo rep said.
According toIGN, we’ll get the real sales numbers next week. “More details about U.S. sales numbers will be made public on April 14, when first-week U.S. sales figures will be tallied by the independent NPD Group,” a representative said.
