While Namco Bandai has been quick to offer level ups and other nonsensical bits of DLC to try and monetize a single-player linear RPG, Square Enix has stated thatthere are no plansto do the same withFinal Fantasy XIII.
Speaking to Japanese magazineDengeki PlayStation, Square confirms that the game’s “Story” and “Scenario” are complete, while the graphics are 80% completed. Apparently, all released footage up until now have been from earlier builds of the game, with the game having moved on quite considerably since then.

When asked about the downloadable content, Square Enix simply said there were no plans. That doesn’t rule it out in the future, but at the very least, Square Enix isn’t licking its lips and dreaming of fleecing its customers before the actual game is finished.
Good show, too — unless you’re prepared to release whole new chapters, it’s incredibly hard to release DLC for a linear RPG without looking like a money-grubbing arsehead.
