The rumor thatSilent Hillwould bedelving into multiplayerhas been shot down bySilent Hill: Downpourproducer Devin Shatsky. Writing in to Hell Descent, he says that the original comments were either taken “completely out of context” or were perhaps “lost in translation.”
Continuing, Shatsky explains “We were (many moons ago) investigating a separate multiplayer mode, but that was quickly extinguished when we costed it out and determined how much resource time it would detract from the core single-player experience.”

This seems to be the common sentiment for a lot of games being pressured by current trends into including multiplayer.Silent Hillmay eventually expand beyond one player, but it’s not happening anytime soon.
