To this day, no videogame soundtrack grabs me likeDonkey Kong Country 2does and always will. I spent the majority of my childhood playing this game, attempting to figure out its vast library of secrets without the aid of an FAQ or game guide. Needless to say, its incredible music has stuck with me.

I can listen to the music, close my eyes, and see the game — see Crocodile Island — as I imagined it to be as a kid; that’s the power of nostalgia. OverClocked ReMix just released “Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business,” a free collection of 30+ tracks — they even got David Wise (DKC2‘s composer) involved.
