OnLive’s“PlayBack” feature— an “all you can eat” style service for streaming games — is now live.

The service, which will cost you $9.99 month, has launched with 38 games. For now, the selection might have some gamers shouting “old!”, but titles likeBioShock,Prince of Persia,Unreal Tournament III: Titan Pack, and a few indie titles are all playable.

Don’t worry too much about the selection, though, because more will be added in the coming months, OnLive promises. OnLive is offering one month free, and if for some reason you want to stop using the service, OnLive will keep your saved data for those games for up to one year.

The idea of an “on demand” style service for games definitely appeals to me, especially as someone who watches movies almost exclusively via Netflix streaming. Right now, I’ve got my gaming covered in plenty of other places, so I’m not jumping on top of OnLive’s “PlayBack” service. But in theory and with the right support, I see a bright future ahead for it and similar services, for sure.
