Clearly conceived after one too many magic mushroom binges, this French animation show was given completely re-written narration when it came to Britain, and achieved a cult status for the dry humor which was added by the new scripts. This iconic animation is now due to return invideogame form, as it’s been announced that a title is in the works for PC, Wii and DS....

With an increasingly strong push toward download-only games and digital expansion packs, you have to wonder what’s going to happen to retailers like GameStop. Used game sales can only carry you so far into the future, right? VentureBeat has a neat article detailing the company’s model “store of the future.” Essentially, GameStop wants to bring digital distribution into the storefront. Yeah,I know. There will be interactive kiosks that can scan in your personal rewards card to bring up information such as the games you’ve bought, your wishlist, and other things of that nature....

Crystal Dynamics’ Tim Longo — who was previously creative director on (the new)Tomb Raider, and more recently had the role of franchise director for the series — has been brought on by LucasArts. He’s going to be the creative director on an unannounced project. In a rare case of Brits catching a break from the videogame industry, Sony has announced that the UK release ofEyePetwillnot be affectedby the annoying 2010 delay that North American gamers have been subjected to.EyePetwill be available in time for the holidays, with a release date of October 23. While the BAFTAs — British Academy of Film and Television Arts — are more commonly known for a yearly awards ceremony where people everywhere freak out over who wears what, this time we take a look at gaming. Taking place on the 15th of March, a panel of industry based judges will be appraising some of the very best video games of the last year with categories ranging from Action right down to the publicly voted GAME award....

The Electronic Arts/Take-Two fiasco seems to have gone quiet while the two companies have little secret chats (and possibly make out) but that doesn’t mean things have gone completely silent. It hasbecome apparentthat, should Take-Two become assimilated into the EA machine, there would be no contest from the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC conducted an investigation of the possible merger of the two companies and wrote to them both declaring them that no action was to be taken, at least for now....

RememberZombie Massacrefor the Amiga? No? Well, that’s finebecause Uwe Boll does. He remembers it so fondly, he is adding it to the long, long, list of games he believes would translate into movies. The 1998Doomclone is apparently pulsating with captivating story elements and entertaining characters that are truly deserving of being woven into the rich tapestry of Uwe Boll’s adaptations. Unlike the mastery of his earlier work, Boll is taking a producer’s chair forZombie Massacre....
