The long-awaited free add-on content forPortal 2has been in the works for what feels like a long time, but Valve has reassuring news on that front: it’s hitting Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Steam next month. And by “next month,” I mean October 4. That’s this Tuesday! The “Peer Review” DLC is spread across more missions for P-Body and Atlas, and hey, GLaDOS is in there too. There are also leaderboard-centric single-player and co-op Challenge Missions....

The latest video forDJ Hero 2shows off how you’ll be able to freestyle in the game. Now everyone can pretend like they’re actually making sick beats by randomly scratching and no one will be the wiser. DJ Hero 2will be out on October 19 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It was displayed at the Atlus booth and advertised as an Xbox Live title, but shortly afterwardsSouthpeak announced they would publish the PC version of the gamefor release later this year. More than a month prior to its release, Activision has revealed the full setlist for its upcoming mult-instrument title,Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The 90-plus song soundtrack falls squarely into the rock category, with an emphasis on various styles metal. Previous games attempted to be more well-rounded (Guitar Hero 5featured a Stevie Wonder song, for instance), but developer Neversoft knows who’s buttering its bread: folks you want to play DragonForce and Slipknot songs....

I likeTom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. as a game, but I hate the name. See, I hate that it sounds a bit red-necky. I could see it on the back of a pick-up truck window. Here are the penny-pinching details: While Microsoft was quite quiet about Live for Windows Vista, today during a press event prior to the Game Developers Conference the company revealed to Game Informer Online the exact pricing structure for the service. Live for Windows Vista will actually be the same exact price for Vista as it is for the Xbox 360....

Namco Bandai’s not known for giving stuff away, but its upcomingGod Eaterdemo is significantly substantial indeed, going so far as to include missionsexclusiveto the demo itself. The 150 MB file is agameplay behemoth, containing ten missions and ad-hoc multiplayer. Five tutorial missions, four exclusive missions and one challenge missions are provided in the demo.God Eater, as well as having a brilliant name, is Namco Bandai’s answer toMonster Hunter. It looks a little heavy on the JRPG angst, but it has ridiculously oversized swords, so it can’t be all bad....

People who say that Gordon Freeman is an amazing character confuse me.I’m not trying to be critical in saying that he’s not complex in and of himself, but it’s the reflection of the world Gordon lives in and projection on the part of the player that create what depth of character he has. And it works very well. Valve seems to know that. Gabe Newell, in a conversation with CVG, has expressed that Gordon’s probably not going to be more than an arm holding a weapon for the foreseeable future....

Race fans anxiously awaitingGran Turismo 5will have to hold their horses just a little while longer. Sony has announced that the highly anticipated racing title will not make its November 2 release date. Don’t worry though, the game’s not on hold forever. In fact, it’s been promised that the title will still make it in time for the holidays, so ensure you ask Santa for a copy or something. According to Sony, the delay is because Polyphony Digital wants to “make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience....

A few days ago we reported thatGran Turismo 5would be released by Christmas 2009 in the UK. Sony’s chief executive in southern Europe, James Armstrong, conveyed the release date to Spanish newspaperEl Financiero. It appears that the quote taken by the newspaper may have been misconstrued or Armstrong simply spoke out of place. In a recent response to aVideogamerinquiry, a Sony spokesperson conveyed that the release date couldn’t be ascertained at this point in the development process....
