Q-Games’ President Dylan Cuthberthas revealedthat the studios second PlayStation Network title,PixelJunk Monsters, will be available for download next week. The game is the second title in the Kyoto-based studios “PixelJunk” series (the first of which wasPixelJunk Racers), and according to Cuthbert, will have you “coming back again and again until your eyelids start fluttering uncontrollably.” The premised behindPixelJunk Monstersis simple — you’re tasked with protecting a village from hordes of monsters by strategically placing various towers on a playing field....

Imagine being responsible for and managing some of Playboy’s hottest models. Well, that’s not happening. But you can act like it in what publisher Jolt Online Gaming is calling a Massively Casual Online Game, titledPlayboy Manager. This game is supposed to combine the best elements of trading card and turn-based gaming with hot nekkid pictures of Playmates.Playboy Manager, an in-browser game, is the only online game to get access to Playboy photos and videos, both to be used in-game....

This generation of gaming consoles has welcomed in video/movie entertainment in full force. Unfortunately, Nintendo’s Wii, despite having the largest install base, does not have much in the way of non-gaming entertainment options. That changes with the introduction of PlayOn, a video streaming application. The service has already worked fine for users of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but today Wii joins the party this week. The newStar Trekmovie starring Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto (best eyebrows in Hollywood) is set to hit theatres next month. To tie in with the movie, Paramount is releasingStar Trek D-A-Cfor XBLA, PSN and PC. D-A-Cis about the continued battles between the Federation and Romulan fleets with all the ships inspired by the look of the new film. The focus is solely on multiplayer so there’s no real story to it, but it’s a fun experience....

From GDC, to Wondercon, to Chad deciding to “put babies” in certain female community members (and .tiff), it’s been quite exhausting overall. Quantum Theoryis one of Japan’s many attempts to “appeal to the West” and you can’t get more appealing to the typical North American consumer than a big, beefy, steroid-friendly cover shooter. Nobody ever really expected much of it, but it looked like it could have been a fairly decent “Western” style game for Tecmo Koei. After having fallen off a cliff edge for the tenth time because the game told me to do it, I can safely say that Japan will never appeal to the West with the absolute mess thatQuantum Theoryprovides....

An unsubstantiated little birdie recently toldVE3Dthat everyone’s favorite, but perhaps slightly delayed, tough guy will not be appearing at E3 this year. Of course, this is probably not shocking news, considering thatDuke Nukem Foreverhas not been at an E3 event since 2001, when 3D Realms dramatically revealed a trailer for the title. This is the exact opposite of what happened in 2005, where rampant rumors dictated that Nukem could pop in with 3D Realms’ bedfellow,Prey....

Most of the info seems genuine from what I’ve received from Volition, but definitely not that bit!] The first details for Volition’sSaints Row 3have made their way online, and naturally, we’re here to soak up the news like big, dirty news sponges. The biggest nugget of gold is the fact that online competitive multiplayer will no longer be part of the game, although co-op will still remain....
