Battleblock Theater is Battlebloody Brilliant

A hi-res, hand-drawn, downloadable game in which cute characters are imprisoned by maniacal cats who force them to act in lethal plays for their amusement. Sounds like a game from The Behemoth to me! I playedBattleblock Theaterat PAX this weekend and was so impressed I made sure it got a Destructoid Game of the Show nomination. It was just that much silly, outrageous, beautifully violent fun! In case you don’t know the basics,Battleblock Theateris a co-op platformer in which up to four players help each other to collect gems and find their way to each stage’s exit....

BioShock’s Arcadia faithfully recreated in Doom II

These are the sort of funky game culture stories I like to read about late into the night. Someone has recreated one of the most memorable areas fromBioShock, the level known as Arcadia, inDoom IIusing the SLADE map editor. The end result is pretty damn neat, if I do say so myself. What makes the project even cooler is that this wasn’t just “someone,” it was actuallyBioShock(andBioShock 2) level designer Jean-Paul LeBreton — who better to design a minimalistic map than the guy who painstakingly created the modern-day one?...

Speculation over Bungie Aerospace has been happening forover a year now. We know what it is, finally, and I don’t think I could have ever seen this coming — certainly not from Bungie, of all studios. Burbank Best Buy hates gamers, disperses PS3 camper crowd

Kotaku hasan articleup about a recent trip to Best Buy where they found that the entireity of the people camping out in front for the PlayStation 3 launch had left! Of course, we all know that it would take something more drastic than weather and lack of a social life to get those kinds of hardcore fanboys to give up their spot, and after a bit of digging, it looks like the cops were called in to disperse the crowd after the Best Buy higher-ups decided they didn’t want a long line of smelly post-teens living La Vida Hobo outside of their store....
