Level Up is a new documentary that explores the possible addictive nature ofWorld of Warcraft. The movie contains interviews withgaming expertstwo guys in a game store,WoWplayers and Shawn Rider, editor ofGamesfirst.com. The documentary is non-bias on the subject and rather just gives the viewer all the information to make up their own mind about video game addiction. I’ve gone onrecordafew timesas being disappointed by the lack of variety in theGuitar Heroseries recently, and as much as this trailer does absolutely nothing to change that opinion (and actually covers it in an impenetrable shell of Aqua Net), I have to admit, I have a spot of wood over this whole concept.If they could only implement my idea of a peripheral that launches panties at your head while playing, I think it could be a hit....

Did you miss out on Comic-Con? I’ve never gone myself but the urge grows stronger every year as we see more and more videogames penetrating into the event. Games likeGod of War: Ghost of Sparta, which was the subject of a panel called “The World ofGod of War” at the show last weekend. SSX 3andAmped. These, at least for me, are the foundational games of an amazing series of snowboarding videogames. Sure, you can argue that Shawn White’s entry was something worth mentioning, or maybe you are a dude who thinksCoolboarderswas a good game (it’s not), but the main issue is that the snowboarding genre of videogames has been stunted in the last few years. Not much innovation. either. Stokedwas a game that tried to change that....

Something about tethering cars to explosive barrels or poles gives us the impression thatJust Cause 2might run like trash on older PCs. The amazing powers wielded by some of the fan developers out there never ceases to astound me. From the looks of these videos, this game could go toe-to-toe withNew Super Mario Brosin terms of raw Mario-ness. But it’s the multiple Mario/Super Metroidmash-ups contained here that push this one into the “must have” category for me. From the looks of these videos,Extra Mario Brosmay be an actual game. With that, I’m officially on the hunt to track down a copy....

A few of us here at Destructoid have had a chance to playAssassin’s Creed, and our feelings are quite mixed. I can’t speak for anyone else here, but I found the game to be a delightful little experience, with a minimal control scheme that let me perform some slick moves with little effort. EA has decided to put together a little teaser trailer of gameplay inBattlefield 3to get you excited forthe actual full length trailer that will be broadcast on television September 26th. While the promised downloadable content flood for Neversoft’sGuitar Hero III: Legends of Rockwas only nice in theory, it looks like they’re off to a good start for the just-releasedGuitar Hero World Tour. Today, Activision has confirmed that Jimi Hendrix and The Raconteurs track packs will be made available come November. The Jimi Hendrix pack will feature “If 6 Was 9,” “Little Wing,” and a live version of “Fire” on November 13; The Raconteurs make their videogame debut with “Salute Your Solution,” “Hold Up,” and “Consoler of the Lonely” on November 20....
