Earlier,we reported on Midway’sNBA Ballers: Chosen Oneand how the game’s cover athlete, Dwight Howard, happened to win the All-Star Weekend Slam Dunk Contest. That story said that the game’s official Web site (http://www.nbaballers.com) launched on Valentine’s Day, but apparently, Midway has just added a bunch of content to it. The updated site now features all kinds of videos, such as trailers and behind-the-scenes footage, in addition to full player ratings for the 81 NBA stars, past and present, who will be playable in the game....

Kotakuhas stumbled on some really hot footage of … something. I’m kind of pushing for Ubisoft’sBeyondGood & Evil 2, now that they’ve put the thought into my head. Watch on (not in full screen, or you’ll get motion sickness) as a Jade-looking woman runs down corridors, takes tight corners, jumps over a dude on the crapper, avoids gunfire, scales buildings, and then takes off in an escape copter, only to be tailed by a half dozen others....

Two weeks ago from yesterday, the 3DS launched in the USA. So far, the console has sold well, but not quite as well as Nintendo projected. The company expected to move 4 million 3DS units worldwide in the first month of release. From the loose numbers reported thus far, they didn’t make that number. In fact, last week, the PSP actually outsold the 3DS in Japan. We’re definitely not looking at a disaster for Nintendo here, but I think it’s fair to say that both Nintendo and the gaming press may have over estimated the current demand for the 3DS....

X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Game — Feral Senseis an interesting title for iPhone. It uses photo recognizition technology as a sort of game. Armed with the App, you’ll go out into the world looking for hidden icons and images in stores, on packaging, and in trailers, among other places. When you successfuly photograph these images, you’ll unlock content and “unleash the power of Wolverine.” What is this power going to do?...

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011is all about recreating the thrilling, iconic moments that you see every week in real-life WWE programming. If a wrestler puts someone through two tables, you want to be able to do that in the game. If a wrestler interrupts a match to help out his buddy, you want to see that happen in the game. If a wrestler punches his rival backstage, you want to have the option to do that in the game....

It would seem that Microsoft’s Black Friday Marketplace sale was a success, because the platform holderis now offeringone brand new deal a week for the month of December. The first “Holiday Deal” is theHalo 3Legendary Map Pack for 400 Microsoft points. Originally priced at 600, that’s a saving of 200 pieces of digital toy money! The deal will last from today until the end of the week, when a new deal takes over....

Jason Johnson claims to have had his discs scratched by his 360 andhe wants revenge, damn it! This past December hesued Microsoftover the issue for $50,000, claiming that Microsoft had knowingly sold a faulty system. The original complaint had been thrown out, but Johnson was allowed to amend the complaint and return. He did so this past August. He is seeking damages from Microsoft’s “alleged violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, negligence, breach of implied warranty and strict product liability....

First up is word that a newMonster Huntertitle is coming to the 3DS this year in Japan. CalledMonster Hunter (Tri) 3G, this adaptation ofMonster Hunter Triwill reportedly feature 12 weapon classes, underwater battles, local multiplayer, potential online components, a new “cover monster” named Blakidos, and compatibility with the 3DS’s new second circle pad attachment....

3D Realms are at it again, posting another job ad on Gamasutra (for senior and junior programmers). Sure, there’s nothing special about a developer looking to hire. In fact, it happens everyday. But it’s not every day that we see a screenshot from (cue the music)Duke Nukem Forever. Along withthe posting, 3D Realms figured it would be a good idea to post a 200×150 image of what appears to be a naked “Pig Cop” for the pipe dream known asDuke Nukem Forever....

Alien Breed‘s coming back? What? Yes! For those not in the know,Alien Breedwas a top-down shooter heavily inspired by theAlienmovies. The goal was to get to an elevator on every level, and the focus was on endless extraterrestrial carnage. The first three screenshots have emerged and the game is looking pretty damn good. As with most titles this generation, it’s powered by Unreal 3 and will naturally be geared for co-op play....

While it is unclear if either Microsoft’s Kinect or Sony’s Move will actually move at retail, it’s always fun to base prediction off ofAmazon’s constant tracking of how well it is selling things. Despite the fact that Amazon actually has a pretty small fraction of gaming sales in the U.S. the way their sales go is often the way retail goes as well, and that way seems to be toward Microsoft....

When watching this trailer forDisaster: Day of Crisisfor the first time, my initial thought was that they’d hired some Don LaFontaine sound-alike to do an overly dramatic narration. Then, it becomes obvious that it’s actually in-game voiceover and I instantly became unable to take it seriously. And who the hell comes up with the names for these terrorist organizations, anyway? I’m praying that the laughter that’s erupting from my belly is intentional....
